Let's get real about WAXING

Because seriously! Out of all the absurd maintenance routines, us ladies go through, waxing is

probably the one least talked about. The vast majority of us wax, the vast majority don't. Whatever you do

to maintain those wondrous lady parts, kudos to you because we all know being beautiful ain't easy

or always cheap for that matter. Anyways right off the bat, I have been loyal to the "waxing method"

for over three years now. Three years ago my older sister introduced me to the world of waxing.

"You wax your vagina!? what!?" Yes, I said the V word. To rule out the cringing part of reading the

word VAGINA, let's substitute that word for flower because our lady parts are just that, a delicate

flower. Now that we're all comfortable enough let me mention I turned to this form of hair removal

simply because my skin is just way too sensitive to put a razor to. That goes for my flower and my

legs also. Let me not forget to add that just after two or three days hair would start to sprout like I

was part of the Chia pet family. So you're telling me that after almost an hour in the shower, and a

couple of nips/cuts at my skin, all I get are two legit days of "smoothness" before the hair starts to

grow again under red itchy painful stubble? Yes, girl! that is what my shaving experience looked like.

A nightmare on razor blades street. Of course, I tried everything, baby oil, "skintimate or not?" the

best razors on the shelves, going in a downward motion instead of upwards you name it. I just

couldn't help but walk past a cheerleader and wonder "how the hell do you constantly shave to

remain hairless all the time?" Maybe she was waxing but that's how I knew I could never be a

cheerleader- Cue the sad violin music! But

hey, that's also how I knew we all don't have the same type of hair or skin. So before I knew

it I was walking into the wonderful European wax center! This is where the A-Z's part comes in.

This post is seriously for anyone who is considering dropping the razor, has never waxed before and

is curious, or maybe someone who is looking for a new wax place. Whatever it may be I hope it

helps!

                                                         (A) picking your wax place!
European wax center is where I first ever started waxing, anything I mention will be related to this company. I continue to wax here till this day because honestly, they're just great. They are a worldwide global waxing company so you can expect them to be in several different states and located in many cities. Find one closest to you and give them a visit! First-time guest get a complimentary wax just like I did three years ago!

                                                  (B) Finding a wax specialist you love!
I am going to tell you right now that you might go through several different specialists before you find "the one". I know having to show your flower to yet another person can be pretty uncomfortable and sometimes even awkward for some people. I personally went through about five different specialists until I found one I personally loved. So it's okay you will find someone, just like that eyebrow lady you trust with your life!

                                                                (C) "The process"
If it grows hair you can wax it! I always go for two services. Full leg and full Brazilian. Does not matter what body part it is, the image above is the wax they use. Before they apply any wax to your skin they wipe down the area and apply baby powder. This makes for a comfier wax and acts as another layer to protect your skin. The blueish/purpleish wax in the image is a "comfort wax". They don't use any paper strips what so ever. Once the wax is applied, a couple of seconds go by until the wax has dried and they remove it along with all the unwanted hair. Try to stick with a wax place that uses this method of waxing and not paper strip method. It can be 10x more painful vs the actual wax where it's purpose is to cling onto hair and not the skin. To finish off the whole process they lather you up with their ingrown hair serum which is quite refreshing and you are good to go!

                                                                (D)The pain scale
This is different for everybody! I am someone who is very tolerant to any kind of pain so for me on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most painful, I give it a 5. Maybe even 5 and a half! Just so you have an idea, I find waxing my upper lip a lot more painful than waxing my flower. True story! Plus I found shaving to be a lot more painful and uncomfortable for me. It all depends on what is "worth it" for you. I can tell you, you won't look like Steve Carell from the 40-year-old virgin screaming "Kelly Clarkson!" to the top of your lungs.

                                                   (E) Everything else you want to know!

- Does the hair really grow back thinner and finer than before? Yes, that is 100% true. It's not just way thinner but it's also softer and lighter in color.

- Is it true after a certain time I will stop growing hair? Like I said, I have been waxing for over 3 years and I still grow hair! Definitely not as much and as quick as before but yes you will continue to grow some hair.

- How long until you have to wax again? They always recommend to reschedule you around 3weeks of your waxing date. I push it to 4 or 5 weeks because sometimes there just isn't enough hair for another wax yet.

- Is it expensive? It can be a bit pricey. The most expensive service at European wax center is full legs which is about $68. All other services are pretty much below that. It can depend on you and what services you combine.

I hope you found this post somewhat helpful and informative for whatever you needed! Happy waxing and feel free to reach out with any questions you might have!
